Meet the doctors.
Dr. David Schmidt
Dr. Schmidt is a University of Michigan Dental School graduate and past president of the Washtenaw District Dental Society. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association, and a certified Invisalign provider.
He sees patients of all ages and lives in Ann Arbor with his wife, Liz. Read more
Dr. Paula Tobar
Dr. Tobar earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2021. She loves talking with patients about their oral health and finding the right solution for each person.
She met Dr. Schmidt at a local dental study club and joined the practice in January 2026. She speaks Romanian and some Spanish, and loves exploring new parks with her husband and two young children.
Who you will meet.
Tina
Tina started with Dr. Schmidt in 2012. She loves helping patients stay on track with their appointments and sorting out billing and insurance questions.
Outside work she enjoys trips to Frankenmuth, time with her two sons and five grandchildren, and her Shorkie, Phoebe.
Madison
Madison has been with the practice for five years and handles accounts receivable and insurance. She actually enjoys solving insurance problems.
She is happily married with two little girls, and being a mom is her favorite title.
Allie
Allie has been with us for four years. She checks patients in and out, schedules appointments, verifies insurance, takes payments and answers the phones.
She enjoys hiking, reading, time with friends and family, and playing with her dachshund, Remi.
Jennifer
Jennifer is a graduate of the Washtenaw Community College Dental Assisting Program and has worked in dentistry for 30 years. She loves meeting new patients and making their visits smooth and comfortable.
She has two grown children, enjoys traveling and gardening, and is a huge U of M fan. You will find her at every home football game. Go Blue!
Julie
Julie has been a dental assistant since 1981. She has worked with Dr. Schmidt since he started practicing after graduating from the University of Michigan.
She is married with three children and two grandsons, and loves traveling, scrapbooking and her German Shepherd, Jazzy.
Laurie
Laurie has been a dental assistant for 16 years, including eight years at University of Michigan Hospital Dentistry and seven in pediatric dentistry, where she loved helping kids feel at ease.
She enjoys time with her husband and two kids, especially at the lake.
Pam
Pam joined our team in 2020 and has more than 30 years in the dental field. She is known for thorough cleanings and helpful tips for caring for your teeth at home.
She is a mom of four and a grandmother, and enjoys playing cards, live music and camping.
Stacey
Stacey has been a dental hygienist for over 30 years since graduating from the University of Michigan in 1994, and joined the practice in 2021. She treats every patient like family.
She lives in Monroe with her husband and their cats, and loves adventures with her two grown kids, from diamond mining in Arkansas to Disney parks.
Amy
Amy is a University of Michigan graduate who has worked in dentistry since 2010 and joined us in 2024. She loves the preventive side of dentistry and getting to know her patients.
After living in New Zealand, she moved back to Michigan. She lives in Ypsilanti with her husband, two kids and two cats, and enjoys traveling, soccer and the outdoors.
